Looking out from the viewing platform on the Aiguille du Midi. Amazing that this terrain is lift-accessed (well, tram-accessed) from town. You can go from sipping your coffee to here in 30-40 minutes, which I think made it hard for my mind to come to grips with the scale of the place to start climbing something. Two and a half weeks was really just enough time to simply begin understanding.

Chamonix Day 15 & 16
(today we’re flying home)
/
Day 14: climbing under the Brévent
/
Chamonix day 13: taking the gear for walk… But all’s well that ends with good coffee!
/
Chamonix day 12: Lepidopteres
Chamonix day 11: it's not all climbing /
/
/
Day 10, le Clocher du Brévent
A fun steep climb off the Brévent lift
East ridge of the Aiguille du Midi /
/
Day 7: a hike
Day 8: climbing the aiguille l’Index
/
Chamonix day 9: Climbing the Mani Puliti on the Gliere
The last one should be day 7 & 8.
/
Day 5: the south face of the Aiguille du Midi. We barely made it to the last tram in time, and would have a much worse time without some directional help from our friends Gael and Fabien.
/
Most of the way up the Pyramid du Tacul, our first climb knowing we have to get back in time to get the last tram down.
/
/
Chamonix day 3: more rain and a trip up the Aiguille du Midi
/
Chamonix day 2: rain. and ice-cream.
/
Chamonix, day 1
Notes from France 1: /
1) turns out my French isn’t so good or our waitress didn’t like us
2) jet-lag is not fun
3) I don’t know the way to ask for tap water in a carafe that’s cheaper than bottled water
More tomorrow…
